Monarchs in November

Male Monarch on Lantana in November

The lantana (Lantana camara) in my yard decided to put out one last batch of flowers for the year. A male monarch butterfly (Danaus plexippus) stopped for a while yesterday to collect some nectar from these colorful blooms. I enjoyed watching him flutter from flower to flower. I wonder if he’ll make it all the way down to Mexico.

Lantana and Winged Sumac

The little patch of lantana is really beautiful next to the red leaves of the winged sumac this time of year. Don’t forget to stop and enjoy the little things!
