The beginning of fall means the end of growing season. It doesn’t mean that there won’t be any flowers in October, though! The goldenrods will continue to bloom this month. Also, the small white asters and the purple asters have just barely started to bloom in September. We can expect a beautiful show of them in October.
October will also bring the start of the changing leaf colors! You’ve probably already seen some trees start to have colorful leaves. Some have even dropped their leaves with the lack of rain we’ve had recently. The leaves will continue to change throughout the month. Typical leaf color peaks during the first half of November in Wake County.
