We’re heading into the end of the growing season. Many flowers are still in bloom, but will any new flowers begin to bloom in September?
The asters will really start to bloom this month. Look for the many kinds of white, yellow (golden) and purple asters along the trails. Swamp sunflowers officially start blooming in September, but they are already out this year. In the wet, shady areas, look for the tiny marsh dewflower. The dog fennel and consumption weed growing along all the trails will also start to have flowers this month.
Don’t forget to look at the September Flower page to see all of the flowers in bloom in September.
