Flowers in a long, arching branch, on one side of the stem. The leaves have a rounded base (ovate). The leaves of Solidago rugosa var. aspera have leaves with a pointed base (elliptical).

Rough-leaf Goldenrod

Bending spikes of yellow flowers, often on one side of the branch. The leaves are wrinkled.
