Spotted Beebalm

Flowers in whorled clusters of 2-6 at the top of the stem. Each cluster of flowers is supported by large whitish to pink-purple leaf-like bracts. The flowers are yellow with purple spots, split into 2 lips. The lower lip has 3 lobes with a notched middle lobe, the upper lip is arched and hairy at the tip.

Tall Goldenrod

Flowers in a large pyramid-shaped cluster at the top of the stem. It is the most common goldenrod in this area. This goldenrod usually has stem ball galls.

Trumpet Creeper

Clusters of orange-red trumpet-shaped flowers with 5 flared lobes.

Violet

Purple flower (deep violet to lavender, sometimes white) with darker veins and white throats. There are 5 unequal petals. The lowest petal points backward and the 2 petals on the side are hairy.

Wild Quinine

Flower heads in a flat-topped, branched cluster. Petals are very short with a white center disk.
