Eastern Gray Goldenrod

This goldenrod grows in clumps of unbranched stems, with the flower clusters on one side. The top of the flower cluster tends to bend.

Eastern Oxeye

Yellow flower petals have slightly notched tips. The flower has a brownish-yellow center cone.

Elmleaf Goldenrod

Arching clusters of flowers on one side of the branch. The wrinkled leaves are thin and not hairy.

Cross-shaped flower with pale yellow, heart-shaped petals. The flower opens in the evening and closes during the heat of the day.

Giant Ironweed

Magenta flowers in a large, loose cluster at the end of the stem. Each flower head has 13-30 flowers. The leaves are up to 12 inches long, and are rough-hairy underneath.

Deep blue to purple flowers that open to two spreading lips. The upper lip has 2 lobes, the lower lip has 3 wider lobes with broad white stripes at the base.
